Grafton used to have a number of manufacturing industries but they mostly closed in the late 70's early 80's. The FMC had been around for a long time. These days the old factory is a major Country Energy depot. I also like these type of shots. When the poplar forests were at their height it used to look amazing. Every direction was a perfect row.
It would be nice to think of this small grove spreading into a forest again, but I guess there is stock there now keeping the suckers down. http://woodsrunnersdiary.blogspot.com/
Meaning ... that the FMC no longer makes matches?
ReplyDeleteI love this shot, and shots like it.
Once upon a time, back through the mists of time, there was an English show on tele (Sunday night, ABC) about members of the resistance in France.
The opening shot was though a sepia stand of trees lining a dirt road. Stuck in my mind .. 'Secret Army' ... ah memories.
