Dalmorton Lock-Up

One of the best preserved buildings in Dalmorton is the Police Cells/Lock Up that were attached to the Police Station and Court House. Mounted Police served Dalmorton from 1881 until 1961. The Police Station was burnt down in 1991.

  1. I wouldn't have liked to have been locked up in that lock-up -no windows - no neighbours to yell at - I guess that's what you'd call solitary confinement. uug!!

  2. The shot somehow looks very American west to me.

  3. It looks well maintained, in comparison with the other buildings you have shown thus far. Painted with some form of linseed-oil, perhaps?
