Torrential Downpours and Gales

We have had torrential weather over the last 24 hours. Yamba has had over 300 mls (12 inches) of rain in 48 hrs. At 4.00am we had terrible gales and driving rain.

Many roads are closed this morning with local flooding.

  1. Yikes! That's some bad news! I hope the sun comes out very, very soon!

  2. Wow! This is dramatic Mark - the top pic shows the force of the water.

  3. Oh goodness more rain. It was just a soft drizzle most of the weekend here.

  4. We have had a mix of both: soft drizzle most of the day, interspersed with torrents. But nothing as much as this. I know a cousin at Gorokan on the Central Coast watched her property all weekend. Another friend at Freeman's Reach near Cessnock has moved animals to higher ground and is in dread of losing electricity. My brother out of Wauchope gets cut off by floodwaters for 10 day stretches at a time. Will go and ring him now.
