Ah, now you have tapped into my vein. Know what I have been doing for the last two weeks? 'Course you don't, so I regale you with it.
I have been trawling e-Bay for old (1955-1972ish) Matchbox toys made by Lesney in England. The more battered the better. I only want to pay about $10 (plus postage). It all started with me wanting to give my grand-daughter an array of city service-vehicles for her birthday (as one does for a one year old girl, as an innoculation against Pink-Princess Syndrome). I hunted around and what was on sale was shite: plastic, american ... yuk~! I am managing about 5 per week. There are old rollers and graders available, too. I have not got into them yet, but will.
PPS in an insidious disease which makes jello of the brain.
Wonderful, rustic charm!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful picture of this old roller, Mark!
ReplyDeleteVery well done!
Have a nice weekend, greetings from the Dolomites ;)
Wonderful colour and textures here.

Julie I loved Matchbox cars when I was a child. I am sure your grand daughter will love them as well.
