It Came From The Sea

We found this on Pippi Beach Yamba. It is obviously an old polystyrene fishing float but what is the strange mollusk attached to it? How long would it take for this mass of creatures to grow?

  3. Such an interesting shot and a beautiful one, too. It just goes to show that nature can do about anything it wants to do. Amazing the way all of those little guys have attached themselves to the float. genie

  4. This is beautiful! Really interesting to observe nature. I wonder what they are attracted to. Food and lodging?

  5. Good one! I assume the float still floats and gives these mollusk a free ride each tide.
