Hinze Dam Gardens

The Hinze Dam is the main water supply for the Gold Coast. In 2011 Stage 3 was completed and included this very interesting park on the edges of the facility.
This is my contribution to the Our World Tuesday meme.

  6. Hinze, what a larger than life man he was. This is the first time I've seen his dam.

  7. A very different park Mark ..... I would think a great area for walking but there seems to be no shady areas

  8. That is so dramaric Mark. I like the modernity of the park and paths set against the majestic backdrop.

  9. Joan I was planning a few posts on the Hinze Dam but probably wont get to it now. In the extensive display there is no mention of Russ Hinze, Minister for Everything, but I did find out that it is named not after Russ but after his pioneering ancestors who owned/farmed the valley that is now underwater.
