Lismore Art Nouveau

This is one of my favourite buildings in Lismore. Located in Woodlark St, it has a striking design. It was built in 1915 and I wish I knew a lot more about it. Do any of my Lismore readers know anymore?

The roof is more like a hat and it has beautiful mouldings. Sadly the whole building is empty at present.

  2. Wow! I've never even noticed it before... I see many nice buildings in Lismore but for some reason I've never looked at that one. Maybe I'm just too busy shopping.

  7. The blue top part of the house is really great but the bottom part is - well - a tragedy! Why not honour the Art Nouveau architecture?
I can see a glimse of something interesting to the left as well, do you have any pictures of that building?

  8. The blue is the perfect color to make this an eye-catching building.

  9. What an interesting building! When I see places like this I always wonder whether they kept the inside true to the architecture of the facade. It certainly is an eye catching shade of blue.

  17. This is my fave building in Lismore too and I often wonder how many others notice it. I've lived in Lismore over 30 years and only started actually noticing this building about 3 years ago...

We have so many beautiful historic shop fronts/shop buildings in Lismore which are spoilt by power lines and gaudy, unattractive shop signs... It's a shame really.
