There are no quaint cobblestone streets in the Clarence Valley. The closest approximation is the very rough stone walkways you find at the beach.
It is often easier to cast off your shoes and go barefoot.
On the 1st day of every month the City Daily Photo Community shoot to a common theme. A few weeks ago the server was hacked and the site is still down but thanks to Julie at Sydney Eye a linky will enable the community to have their monthly meet up in the blogosphere. On the 3/4/12 CDP came back on line after 3 weeks down. Big thanks to Dionysus for getting back up after the hackers! Also thanks to all those others who kept us informed and also the community still functioning at the most basic level -theme day. The following link will take you there.

Love the discarded sneaker, Mark. That would have put paid to the rest of the stone ramble for mine!
ReplyDeleteIt is interesting what work-arounds contributors are coming up with, and the spin that they use for the switcheroo. I love it. I think we are all learning to be politicians in the true Labor mould. Of course, Liberals do not indulge in spin.
How on earth did that 'time' appear on my comment? It was actually 6:54am Sunday. That is a 17 hour difference, so Blogger/Google think I am in Pacific Time. Bastards!!
ReplyDeleteGreat minds ... a lovely scene, real ankle snappers.
ReplyDeleteRounded and aged by time and the beating of the wind and sea .... Beautiful smooth cobble-stones Mark
ReplyDeleteGreat captures Mark. I saw plenty of these "ankle-snappers" (as identified by Peter, above!) during my recent visit to the Sunshine Coast, but they are great fun to clamber over - albeit not so nimbly as in one's childhood! Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteLooks like hard work walking across thsse rocks. Would not want to slip! Great images Mark. Especially love the image of the sneaker that was left behind.
ReplyDeleteOuch! ouch! is that guy in bare feet!! Love these images Mark, what an original approach to the theme for this month. Excellent.
ReplyDeleteAlthough not cobblestones, very clever, my friend.
ReplyDeleteVery nice captures Mark, very clever.
ReplyDeleteCobblestones seem to be hard to come by in lots of places. I was surprised to find the shot I had among my archives, before I found it I was going to resort to a photograph of my garden path, which is a lot easier to walk than the rocky path you have shown here.
ReplyDeleteInteresting because here in Menton we have cobbles made of pebbles.
ReplyDeleteA great twist on COBBLESTONES! What's better than a walk by the beach, feeling the stones with your feet!
ReplyDeleteJust looking at this makes my toes scream in pain. :)
ReplyDeleteThose are mighty big stones!
ReplyDeletegood for the kiwis, they like not wearing shoes.
