Southern Aurora - Glass Paintings


The Southern Aurora Express has been kept in excellent condition and has some lovely features. The club car bar and lounge feature beautiful glass paintings that serve as dividers within the carriage. They feature Australia's unique wildlife including the Lyrebird above and the Koala below.

    Back in the last 70's we were booked to go to Melb on this train & there was a train strike and we ended up driving... Plenty of trip north though on the Motor rail..

  3. Well done. I had great difficulty shooting inside the carriages when the Southern Aurora was at Central as part of a train festival.

  6. Oh now you see I should have looked here first instead of going in order! It looks so unique, I should imagine overseas visitors would be thrilled with this trip!
