Colour Our World

On Saturday, Yamba's citizens to awoke to discover their main street bedecked with thousands of colourful balloons. It was the creation of Bronwyn Mark, owner of cult bakery 'The Pie & the Pea' and employee Nicole Fowler. It looked fantastic and gave everyone a feel good moment at the start of the summer holiday season and was appreciated by everyone.
I love the irony of their banner, based on a quote German composer Richard Wagner, attached to one of the most unimaginative pieces of urban sculpture I have ever seen. For the first time since their construction, the cruel spiky trio of metal shapes sitting in the middle of Yamba's newest roundabout was partially obscured.

  3. It must have taken them most of the night to put all those balloons up. Gives the place a real carnival feel.

  5. Haha, i love your description of the sculpture. At first look, it was like a makeshift structure for the balloons!
