W is for Willowtree Waterfall

Willowtree Falls is the smallest of the waterfalls at The Gorge. It is very difficult to access by foot and can only be accessed by a small boat when the river level is just right.

The willow tree that the falls are named after is long gone, probably swept away by a flood at some stage.

Here is the gap amongst the rocks that our very experienced boat driver took us through to view the Willowtree Falls. You can see the top of the outboard motor in the bottom left.

  6. It looks goregous - but you clearly have to be very experienced to find your way safely through this with a boat.
