A is for Alstonville - 2477
Alstonville was once called Duck Creek Mountain (Thanks Rod for this bit of historical information). The social hub of the community is the classically styled and popular Federal Hotel.
The town has a lovely main street, a mix of old and new, usual and eclectic. It's a very upmarket town and real estate is quite expensive.

I love markets like those and to be able to see a rodeo would be awesome!

I enjoy getting to visit places on my computer that I will never be able to otherwise.

I love towns with character. Those that still have the old mixed with the new.
ReplyDeleteGood post for the letter A.
The Federal Hotel looks as if it has seen quite a few seasons and weathered them well! And so much character in the collection of shops in the second photo!
ReplyDeleteHas a charming nature

The market sure looks inviting !! These are the kind of places that would give my better half nightmares since I go berserk and spend on unnecessary stuff :)

The hotel 'pub' is often the hub of a small town hey Mark. It's funny how some smaller towns seem to be trendier than others, over here Margaret River and Bridgetown are probably our equivalent!
