My photo of the the year for for 2012 just has to be the troop of surfing mice I saw on the beach at Angourie in February. Not only was it my most popular post in 2012 it was also one of my most surreal moments as well. What do you say when a bloke appears on the beach and announces he has a troop of trained surfing mice! Grab the camera, quick!!!

When I caught sight of the thumbnail version I thought it featured penguins - turns out they're surf boards - not sure if I'm disappointed or not - well not actually. Best wishes for New Year - off to our party in half an hour.
