Bundarra - The General Store

Bundarra is a small, dusty town located between Uralla and Inverell on the Thunderbolts Way. It has a population of a few hundred, with a few hundred more living on rural propeties within the district.
The town only has one store left and of course it's run by very friendly folk who sell everything and anything.

"Shop Locally", it's a great expression but I suspect many travel to the larger towns or use the net.

Painted on the wall of the General Store is this famous old shopping expression you no longer see anymore.

  1. Reminds me of places in western Canada and U.S. Cool shots.

  2. Definitely the old Lands Department. Have put more info in the comments on the post. If you are ever in Sydney for Sydney Open which I think is held every 2 years, they usually open the building for guided tours and take you to some fascinating things including the old observatory dome.

  3. Perfect and I am so glad it is still open. Might take a while to fill the car up from that bowser.

  4. Wonderful feel to this little place! Bundarra was the name of my "house" (maroon) at school for sport! I still don't know why this name was used!

  5. old 'general stores' often stock the most interesting things.
